Introduction

Some of us prefer to use an external keyboard and keyboard shortcuts when using Office under Windows. This is faster and more efficient.

This article provides some tips on using shortcut keys (keyboard shortcuts) for Office 2016.

 

Common Shortcuts for the 2016 Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Ctrl + O: To open a new document.

Ctrl + S: To save.

Ctrl + Z: To roll back.

Shortcuts specific to the various software of the office suite 2016: (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

 

  •   Word

Ctrl + A: To select the entire document.

Ctrl + M: To convert numeric values to euros.

Ctrl + P: To print a document.

F7: To check spelling and grammar.

F12: To save as.

 

  •   Outlook

 

Ctrl + Enter: To send a message.

Ctrl + D: To delete a message.

Ctrl + F: To transfer an email.

Ctrl + R: To reply to a message.

Ctrl + Q: To mark as read.

Ctrl + U: To mark as unread.

F7: To check the spelling.

Ctrl + N: To create a new presentation.

Alt + N, P: To insert an image.

Alt + G, H: To select a theme.

Alt + S, B: to start the slideshow.

Alt + F, X: to close PowerPoint.

Ctrl + H: To open a word search menu

Ctrl + M: To convert numeric values to €

Ctrl + N: To create a new workbook

Alt + U: To open the Formulas tab and insert, track and customize functions and calculations.

Ctrl + (;): To enter the current date in the selected box
